Why Our Curriculum Works

AGC's curriculum is designed with the needs of both students and educators in mind. These principles guide every lesson we create:

1. Educator Expertise

All resources are exclusively crafted by experienced social studies teachers who understand curriculum demands and classroom realities.

2. Timely and Relevant Content

Materials are updated regularly with the latest data and global developments.

3. Engagement and Creativity

Lessons use a wide range of interactive strategies—such as role plays, simulations, case studies, collaborative research, structured discussions, primary source analysis, visual storytelling, and digital tools—to keep students actively involved in the learning process.

4. Authentic Sources

Learning materials are built on authentic sources, including personal stories, readings, podcasts, videos, maps, graphics, primary sources, etc. —always paired with meaningful questions to deepen learning.

 5. Interactive Technology

Interactive presentations, Nearpods, and multimedia tools, offer an immersive, student-centered learning experience.

6. Scaffolded Learning

Lessons and units are carefully designed to scaffold knowledge and skills, guiding students through a structured progression that culminates in a task reinforcing their understanding of the content and mastery of skills.

7. Standards Alignment

Lessons are aligned with Common Core standards and IBDP Global Politics content, providing teachers with confidence in seamlessly integrating our materials into their curricula.

8. Editable Study Guides and Canva presentations

Recognizing the importance of customization, all lessons include google docs and canva presentations that are fully editable.

9. Human Rights Focused

Lessons highlight lived experiences and root causes of injustice, cultivating empathy, and critical thinking.

10. Global-Local connection

Lessons connect global issues to students’ lives and communities, fostering relevance and informed action.
