Development in Kerala, India

This lesson introduces students to Kerala, India as a case study for examining the overall impacts of educating women and girls on development.
 
It includes an interactive presentation featuring images of Kerala and development data on Kerala and India as a whole.
 
It also includes source-based questions and a Gapminder investigation where students investigate the correlation between women’s education and fertility rates.
 
The culminating task asks students to  synthesize insights gained from this lesson to justify claims about the correlations between women’s education and development and economic growth and human development.
